If you’re looking for a new hair dryer but you have particularly fine hair, then this can be a bit of a concern. Everyone knows that cheap low quality hairdryers that run too hot can damage your hair, especially when it’s vulnerable to this in the first place. But depending on your budget, you might not want to spend a fortune on a new hairdryer. That isn’t an issue – there’s a good range of high range, luxury hairdryers around but there’s also some good cheaper ones available too. So, whatever your budget, there’s going to be a hairdryer out there to suit your needs. So, lets take a look at some of the best hair dryers that work well for fine hair that you’ll want to consider if you’re going to pick up a new one. Best Hair Dryer for Fine HairThere’s a wide range of different models here, but they’re all good options if you want to ensure your hair stays healthy. Let’s run through them, starting with my favorite! Dyson Supersonic
Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer Iron/Fuchsia
Generally the Dyson Supersonic is regarded as the best hair dryer currently available for the majority of people. Apart from the relatively high price tag it holds which may put some people off, it’s undoubtedly the number one around when considering luxury hair dryers. One of the main reasons why the Supersonic is so popular is because of it’s ability to leave your hair undamaged. If you have damaged or particularly fine hair, then you’ll known exactly what I’m talking about. Cheap hairdryers are great and all, but a lot of them don’t have any form of temperature moderation. This means that they can get really hot, which can damage your hair. Fortunately, the Supersonic has temperature regulation which makes it perfect for those with fine and delicate hair. Another great thing about the Supersonic is that for a powerful hairdryer, it’s actually extremely light. This makes it a good choice for those that want a hairdryer that’s portable, as it’s very easy to move the Supersonic around with you wherever you go. All in all, the Supersonic is likely to be the best choice for anyone looking for the best of the best that isn’t too bothered about the price tag. GHD Air
ghd Air Dryer
The ghd Air is difficult to compare to the Supersonic because they’re two of the best around. If we’re looking at dramatic differences, the Supersonic hasn’t got much that differentiates it from the Air. You’re getting a more powerful machine with the Air, as it has a higher wattage. For some, this may mean its better, as traditionally a higher wattage indicates that the hairdryer is more powerful. But if you used both together, you’d be unlikely to notice much of a difference in drying times. The Air only has two different settings, whilst the Supersonic has three – this might make it better for salon use (which is kind of why they released the Supersonic Professional Edition – because it’s a salon quality hairdryer). But, for home use, the ghd Air has pretty much everything that you could need from a hairdryer. What makes the ghd Air a better choice for most people over the Supersonic is the price different. And for a lot less change, the quality of the hair dryer is not significantly different in my opinion, especially if you’re only going to use it around the house. It still has all the great same power of the other more expensive hair dryers and it has a good precision nozzle too. So for a cheaper option than the Supersonic that isn’t compromising too much in terms of power and usability, then the ghd Air makes another decent choice. Elchim 2100
Elchim Classic 2001 Hair Dryer: Lightweight 1875 Watt Quick Dry Professional Salon Blow Dryer
If you’re looking for the classic hair dryer style but you don’t want to fork out hundreds of dollars for the Supersonic, then the Elchim 2100 might prove to be a good investment. It’s a great choice for those that want something powerful enough to dry your hair quickly. One of the reasons that the 2100 is a good choice for people with fine hair specifically is that it has 5 different heat settings. This means that you can easily adjust the settings if you think that the heat is too hot – a heat setting thats too high is one of the worst things for your hair, especially if you have fine hair already. So, the ability to change the temperatures is ideal for those of us with fine hair. The 2100 is generally accepted to be one of the better options if you’re looking for a basic hairdryer – it’s a salon quality hairdryer at a household price. Hot Tools HairdryerIf you’re trying to save a little cash, then it might be worth looking at this Hot Tools Hairdryer. It’s a great choice if you don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a hairdryer. It’s part of their signature series, and it has 3 different heating settings, as well as two different speeds. It’s quite a quiet hairdryer, which makes it a good option if you don’t want some super loud salon quality hairdryer in your house. The negative ions that it uses can help you keep your hair looking shiny, which is exactly what we want from a hairdryer. It’s a lightweight hairdryer and it does everything that you could ask of it, which makes it another great choice if you’re looking for something to dry your fine hair with. T3 Cura Hair DryerFinally, we’ll take a look at the T3 Cura Hair Dryer. This model uses a special kind of ion technology to dry your hair quicker than your average hair dryer. Due to the highly concentrate airflow design of the T3, its really good for smoothing your hair dry and styling it if you want to. Although it’s a powerful hair dryer, it manages to do this without causing any kind of damage – the powerful air is still soft, which is ideal for a hairdryer. If you have fine hair and you want something that isn’t going to cause damage but still allow you to style it easily, then it’s worth looking at a T3 hair dryer. Hair Dryer Buying GuideIf you’re going to be purchasing a hair dryer, then you’ll undoubtedly want to know exactly what it is you should be looking for. Here’s a few things to take into account before you make a purchase. WattageFor me, the wattage of a hair dryer is the equivalent of how important megapixels are in cameras. They do matter, but not as much as everyone thinks. The majority of decent quality hair dryers will have enough wattage to dry your hair quickly and easily, so this isn’t something to worry about too much. SettingsThe best hair dryers will have multiple different settings for you to adjust the heat of the hairdryer too. This is important for people with fine hair, as you’ll likely want to use a lower than maximum heat a good deal of the time. So for those that don’t want to damage their hair, different heat settings are a must. Hairdryer AttachmentsDepending on the hairdryer that you purchase, it may or may not have different attachments which might make it better for certain things e.g. a diffuser for curly hair. So, depending on what exactly it is that you need, one option may be a lot better for you than the rest. ConclusionOverall, these are just a selection of my favorite hair dryers that are currently available. Although the Supersonic is particularly expensive, it’s definitely one of the best hairdryers currently around. But if you don’t have that kind of cash to spare, then there are other options around that are also worth considering too. You don’t have to spend a ton of cash on a hairdryer to get a decent one, but it’s worth it if you do have the extra money. If you’re looking at getting a set of hair straighteners, then you’ve likely come across ghd’s. The British brand have become one of the most popular straightening brands around nowadays, which is particularly impressive considering that they’re less than 20 years old. But, ghd have a wide variety of different products to choose from, so it can be really difficult to know which one would be best for your needs. There are subtle differences between them all, so you need to ensure that you’re getting the right set for your needs. So, lets take a look at some of the best ghds and determine the differences between them all. Best ghd straightenersWhen we’re looking at the best ghd’s, we’ll have to take a look at the four models that they currently offer individually to try and decipher which of them is the best option for you. They’re all similar, but they do have a few differences which might make them more suitable for your needs. ghd GoldThe ghd Gold Series is one of their oldest products, but just because it’s older, doesn’t mean you should ignore them. In fact, they actually released updates on the gold stylers quite frequently, so make sure that you’re purchasing an updated version of this styler. They consistently win awards year upon year for their gold straighteners series, and if you’re looking for an ideal place to start, then the ghd golds are likely a good place to start. Generally for the majority of people, the Gold series are likely to be the best option. They’re basically the mid range ghd’s, which makes them a step up from the originals but not quite as premium as the Platinums. But in terms of cost to effectiveness, I’d put them as my favorite pair. I think that it’s worth picking up the ghd’s as opposed to the originals, primarily because of their ergonomic design. The difference between the Golds and the cheaper Originals is that they have a much better round barrel design of the irons themselves, which makes them a much better choice for those that want to curl their hair. Not only is the end of the flat irons rounded to help with curling, but the surface area of the plates themselves is contoured too, which makes them less likely to snap at your hair and damage it. Overall, the ghd Golds are undoubtedly my favorite option when considering hair straighteners. For their price, I think that they offer the best value for money. ghd OriginalIf you’re looking for the basic ghd’s then you’ll want to consider the ghd originals, which are the cheapest set of flat irons that are currently available. The originals follow a very basic design of a flat iron – that means that they have straight edges as opposed to curved. Like all ghds, they operate at 185 degrees, which is the optimal level to be hot enough to have an effect, but not so hot that it will damage your hair to any degree. They also have a 1 inch width, which is the norm for all ghd’s too. For most people looking to pick up the cheapest pair of ghd’s possible, then the Originals give you the ability to do this. Whilst I much prefer the Golds, the originals still do a fine job for those that are only looking to straighten their hair. They’re not ideal for anyone looking to add curls to their hair, so if this is you, you might want to look elsewhere. ghd PlatinumThe ghd Platinum series are the most expensive options available if you’re looking for ghd’s, so it only makes sense that they should be the best, right? Well it really depends on what you’re looking for in a hair straightener in my opinion. Depending on what it is exactly that you’re looking for, the Platinums do offer something different to other models available. The main advantage of the Platinums is that they’re specifically designed to be good to fine and damaged hair. This makes them ideal if you have damaged hair if you’re looking for a good flat iron that isn’t too harsh on your hair. This is mainly due to the technology that the platinums use, which is specially designed to work with all different hair types. It adapts heat to the specific areas you need it depending on your hair style and it’s thickness, making it one of the first ‘smart’ straighteners’ that’s been released. In terms of effectiveness, they’re some of the best hair straighteners out right now. Although they run at a higher cost than the Gold’s and the Originals, they might provide a better options for those that deal with thin or damaged hair. One bad thing about the Platinum model is that they have the highest return rate out of any set of ghds. They’re more likely to get the red death light, and if you look at all the reviews of ghd’s online, you’ll see more people have experienced this with the platinums than any other model. So, this is definitely something to take into account if you’re considering purchasing a this set. But with Platinums, you do get a 2 year warranty if you purchase them directly from their site, so you will be covered if you do have any issues. ghd Mini/MaxEssentially, the ghd Mini and Max models are very similar to the ghd Golds, but they have a different width of the iron itself. The regular width for ghd’s is 1 inch, which is perfect for most people. However if you have particularly short hair, or you want to style only your fringe, then the ghd Mini’s might prove to be a better option. One the opposite end of the spectrum, if you have thicker or curly hair, then the ghd Max might be the better option. It’s 2 inch thickness makes it great for long, thick hair which needs a bigger straightener to be effective.
